Nicolas Sarkozy was born on January 28, 1955. He studied at the Lycée Chaptal and the Cours Saint-Louis de Monceau. He joined the UDR party in 1974. In 1976, he joined the new RPR party.
At university, he obtained a master’s degree in private law at the Paris X. Nanterre University. He attended Sciences Po Paris even though he did not graduate, and in 1980 he obtained the certificate of aptitude for the legal profession.

Married in 1982, Nicolas Sarkozy has two children from this union, Pierre and Jean. He was elected mayor of Neuilly-sur-Seine in 1983 and remained in office until 2002.

In 1987, he created in collaboration with a law firm: Leibovici – Claude – Sarkozy. A deputy for Hauts-de-Seine in 1988, he then joined the government as Minister of the Budget in the Édouard Balladur government on March 30, 1993, and spokesman. He was re-elected as a deputy in 1995. He married the following year with Cécilia Ciganer-Albéniz, and had a child, Louis.
